Elvis Guiracocha is the Community Health Programs Manager for the Hudson Pride Center. He is responsible for the implementation and oversight of all health-related programs, including, but not limited to the HIV, Prevention/PrEP, and Transgender Health Programs at Hudson Pride Center. Elvis focuses on strengthening existing and creating new partnerships with health organizations and institutes, private and public medical facilities and providers, and other community organizations throughout Hudson County and the surrounding areas to help identify emerging LGBTQ+ community health needs and gaps in existing LGBTQ+ affirming health services.

Elvis earned his MSW (Masters in Social Work) degree from the Graduate School of Social Work at Rutgers University. His field of expertise in both LGBTQ+ Studies and Women & Gender Studies throughout his academic career has heavily influenced the work he has set forth with the Center. He first joined the team in 2019 as a Latinx PrEP Counselor where he focused directly on working with the undocumented & uninsured/underinsured Latinx community. In this previous role, Elvis concentrated on PrEP education, awareness, and access for PrEP-eligible folks (regardless of insurance or legal status) who were at risk of HIV infection, providing direct connection and support to LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare providers, community outreach, network planning, and facilitating educational trainings that focus on PrEP as well as LGBTQ+ health for the Latinx community.

Elvis prides himself on being an active advocate, lifelong resident of Hudson County, and proud dog dad!
