Positive Connections

 

Legal Education & Advocacy Program (LEAP) is a unique program to meet the important and integral legal needs of people living with HIV / AIDS. Through public education workshops, one-on-one legal guidance, and connections to advocacy and pro bono representation, people dealing with discrimination, wrongful termination, tenancy issues, and more, can be connected to education and advocacy.

Emergency Assists is a financial assistance program available to assist people living with HIV / AIDS with emergency utility, rent, and mortgage payments to prevent eviction, utility shut-off, and homelessness.

Currently there are no funds available in the EA program. Please check back soon.

Living Beyond is a network of conversation groups and group programming designed to serve the unique and important needs of people living with HIV / AIDS. In later 2007 we hope to expand LB to include groups in Spanish, groups on housing concerns, and a group specifically for women.

Living Beyond: Gay, Bisexual, and Same Gender Loving Men meets every Thursday from 7 pm through 9 pm.
Living Beyond: 50+ meets every Thursday from 11 am through 1 pm.

Click here to see the overview of the ground-breaking Treatment Adherence Buddy (TAB) model presented at the International Associations of Physicians in AIDS Care Treatment Adherence Conference hosted in Jersey City in 2007 (.pdf). Thsi model was based on the long-running Hudson Buddies program and is still in development.

Our mission: Hudson Pride Connections, HPC, is a 501(c)3 bridging the gap in services and responding to the unmet needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, & transgender community, as well as HIV positive people of any orientation / identity, through supportive social services, prevention, outreach, advocacy and development trainings for other service providers, to educate, empower, and unite all of our communities.
