Our History

Hudson Pride Connections (HPC), a 501c3 non profit organization founded in 1993 and exists to bridge the gap in services and respond to the unmet needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, & transgender community, as well as HIV positive people of any orientation / identity, through supportive social services, prevention, outreach, advocacy and development trainings for other service providers, to educate, empower, and unite all of our communities.

After 14 years of serving the community, in the summer of 2007, HPC acquired a 3 story historic home from the late 19th century in one of the most diverse cities in the world.   HPC operates and manages the Hudson Pride Connections Center and is home to 32 Jones Art Gallery and many community partners including Jersey City Lesbian and Gay Outreach (JCLGO), the northern NJ Chapter of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight, Education Network (GLSEN), and Hudson Diversity Action Council (HDAC).

The Center is happy to offer a number of different services, programs and events to the community at large including transgender programming, youth groups, legal advocacy, health education, outreach services, financial assistance and social service linkages; 32 Jones Gallery features local, national, and international Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and straight ally artists and serves as a venue to provide support for underrepresented and emerging artists; JCLGO hosts Jersey City’s annual LGBT Pride Festival and supports causes, issues, groups and individuals that benefit the LGBT community in Jersey City; GLSEN works to ensure safe schools for ALL students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity; and Hudson Diversity Action Council advances the issues of underserved populations through political action, voter mobilization, and community education.

In addition to our programs, we feature some public access spaces, facility rental options, and free Wi-Fi access for visitors. With convenient access to all major public transportation routes, as well as major highways, and a visitor parking lot, Hudson Pride Connections Center is proud to open its doors to support and empower LGBT people and all people living with HIV.
